My first brand shoot did not go as planned. Not because I wasn’t prepared but because SH*T seriously just happens sometimes. For the first time I experienced extreme anxiety, my chest felt heavy and tight.

I did NOT want to model! So I found two beautiful girls that I knew would deliver. But on the day of the shoot, one had to cancel and the other fell ill. Which meant in the last possible minute I had to take out my Meek Mill braids from under my wig and have my sister style my hair. (You know how the natural hair life gets!)

My makeup artist was overwhelmed from caring for a sick friend and nearly missed our scheduled shoot. However, she still showed up.

Amongst other things, I was super late! The shoot was scheduled for 11 am but I didn’t get there until about 3pm. I was literally cringing inside. My gracious photographer was pretty understanding about it. He even prepared a fresh fruit platter and hot wings, (I literally love these two things and he had no clue!).

How hard can putting contacts in be? Well I sure found out that day. It took at least 35 tries per eye. I was bothered. I wanted to slap myself for adding the styling concept of reptilian eyes.

So much happened that day in a short period of time that I really wanted to throw in the towel.

Despite it all, the shoot progressed nicely and I’m pleased with how everything turned out.

Special thanks to the team for the day, Photographer (@VybzDealer), MUA (@MakeupByOmega), Hair Stylist (@TropixBraids), SeamsMaster @Omega98, Model (@Chyna.Jones and @An_Avid_Obession).
